Our university participates in a program for inviting foreign scholars, funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan

In the context of contemporary climate challenges, which have a significant impact on the socio-economic development of regions, finding scientifically grounded and practically oriented solutions tailored to regional specificities becomes particularly important. In this regard, Akmola Region, as one of the key agro-industrial and socio-economic regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, requires comprehensive approaches to ensure sustainable development.

Sustainable Development of Akmola Region under Climate Challenges: Global Trends and Regional Solutions”,aimed at integrating international experience, scientific research, and regional initiatives to develop sustainable development models, enhance climate resilience, and ensure long-term socio-economic growth of the region.

Mihail Eva is a lecturer in the Department of Geography at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași. His specialization includes spatial planning, transport geography, geoinformatics, and territorial diagnostics. His research focuses on the relationship between transport infrastructure, regional development, and territorial sustainability.

He holds a PhD in Spatial Planning (2017, University of Tours and Alexandru Ioan Cuza University) and is the author of numerous scientific articles, book chapters, and conference proceedings on sustainable mobility, regional inequalities, and the sustainability of urban and rural areas.

Dr. Eva is actively engaged in scientific activities as an editor and reviewer for international journals and is a member of professional associations, including the Regional Studies Association and the Romanian Geographical Society. He has supervised more than 25 master’s theses and has participated in international research projects and exchanges, including a visit to Oxford University and teaching exchanges under the Erasmus+ program.

Harald Fridl is a lawyer and philosopher who has been teaching the “Healthcare Management in Tourism” program at FH JOANNEUM – University of Applied Sciences, Bad Gleichenberg since 2003. He supervises master’s theses, oversees lectures on tourism, safety, and sustainability, provides legal support, and participates in public relations activities.

His research focuses on sustainable regional development through tourism, tourism ethics, corporate social responsibility, safety in tourism, as well as intercultural communication and conflict management. Since the early 1990s, he has worked as a tour guide and journalist, conducting sustainable tours in the Sahara and studying ethnotourism among the Tuareg.

He is the author of the books: Tourismusethik (2002), Respektvoll reisen (2005), KulturSchock Tuareg (2008), Reisen zu den Wüstenrittern (2009). He has received numerous awards for teaching, research, and educational activities, including prizes from UNESCO, FH JOANNEUM, and national awards for sustainable development.

Doctor of Civil Engineering, graduated from Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain.

Specializes in applied geology, hydrology, engineering geomorphology, and water resources management. Teaches and conducts research on the application of geology and hydrology in civil engineering, natural hazard assessment, and sustainable territorial development.

Andreas Stergiou - PhD, University of Thessaly (Испания)

Andreas Stergiou - PhD, University of Thessaly (Испания)

Professor of International Relations, holder of the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Climate and Energy Policy and the Eastern Mediterranean. He teaches at Neapolis University, Cyprus, and has extensive international teaching experience at universities in Europe, the USA, and Asia.

His specializations include international relations, energy geopolitics, political economy, and contemporary European history.He participates in international research projects on the Eastern Mediterranean, relations between Greece, Israel, and Cyprus, as well as Russia’s policy in the region. His work focuses on issues of national self-determination, security, and the social and economic impacts of energy activities. He also has experience collaborating with international organizations and observing elections within the OSCE framework.
