Порядок пересечения Государственной границы Республики Казахстан с 11 мая 2020 года на период карантинных ограничений
Разрешение МВК

For the period of quarantine restrictions in Kazakhstan, there are special requirements for the procedure for foreign citizens to cross the state border.

For a foreigner to enter Kazakhstan, the inviting company (host party) must obtain permission from the Interdepartmental Commission (IMC) in advance.

In the absence of such permission, a foreigner may be denied entry into the country.

How long and by whom is the application considered?

The application is considered by the akimat / relevant ministry and agreed with the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan within 5 working days. Upon positive consideration and approval, the application is sent to the meeting of the Interregional Commission.

If the application is approved, the meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission draws up a protocol and instructs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan to assist in the entry of foreign specialists into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The Akimat or the relevant ministry informs the inviting organization about the results of the IMC meeting within 2 calendar days. They send the protocol to the IMC.

After receiving the protocol, the inviting party applies to the Migration Service to issue an invitation for a visa.

A visa can be obtained in the country of citizenship of a foreigner or in the country of his permanent residence.

International students are required to apply for a C9 student visa. Students need to apply for a visa through the Consulate / Embassy of Kazakhstan in their country of residence. Student visas are usually issued for the entire academic year (or a full academic semester for students of short-term programs). This type of visa is multiple entry, i.e. a student can enter Kazakhstan several times. The visa is renewed every year. Depending on your nationality, you may not need a visa.

Arrival in Kazakhstan

When crossing the border, you must present your passport and visa to the immigration officer, as well as indicate the educational purpose of the visit. You may also be asked to show supporting documents, such as your letter of acceptance.

Notification of the stay of a foreigner is required within 3 working days from the moment of his entry into Kazakhstan. It does not depend on the order of entry and stay, as well as the purpose of the visit of a foreigner.

The notification is submitted by the host party (inviting person) to the migration service in writing or through the Visa and Migration Portal.

Late submission of the notification entails administrative liability of the receiving party in accordance with Article 518 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

When leaving Kazakhstan for any period of time, it is necessary to re-notify the Office of the Migration Service (OMS) of your arrival within three working days, following the same procedures as for the first visit to Kazakhstan.

Temporary registration

Foreign students arriving from Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, instead of a visa on arrival, are issued temporary registration at the place of residence for a period of one academic year. To apply for temporary registration, you need to provide the original of your passport and a notice of arrival to the department for work with foreign students. The remaining documents are drawn up by the coordinator of the department.

Re-registration requirements.

When leaving Kazakhstan for any period of time, you will need to re-register with the Migration Service (OMS), following the same procedures as during the first visit to Kazakhstan. Before leaving Kazakhstan, be sure to consult with the International Student Coordinator regarding your re-registration.
